What experience do you (anyone) have with bar-style tires on a BX series Kubota? I've had some traction issues with the turfs while using rear implements and with soft ground. They are also a pain to clean. Will the bars tear up my lawn? Is traction better? Are they easier to rinse off? Are they worth the $$$? Anyone have any pics of a BX with bar tires?

I had both types for my BX. I found the bar tires less useful than the turfs.

Unlike you, I live in a very dry environment. I didn't get any big improvement in traction with the bar tires, instead when I lost traction they dug deeper holes in a faster manner.

If your dealer orders from "whole goods" rather than "parts" you should be able to get into a set of tires and wheels for about $300

Given your obviously wetter conditions they may work ok for you and in any case be thankful it does not have green paint.
Extra tires and wheels would cost 4 times as much.

I've got a BX1500 with bar tires. I ordered the tractor with them so I have no experience with turf tires. I don't use the tractor on grass, so I have no experience with whether they would tear it up or not. For me I get excellent traction and would not trade them for the turf tires. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and ordered a set with wheels, so I'll have both. The dealer is picking up my machine today for a warrenty repair and the 50 hour service. While they are at it, they are installing the new wheels and tires. Price: $275 with "free" installation. The only downside is the $48 pickup/dropoff fee. Very reasonable, but I don't have a trailer for transport. I'll try out the ags for a while and if f I don't have a need for the turfs, I'll put them up for sale. ....
